LONDON FASHION WEEK - DAY TWO
LONDON FASHION WEEK got off to a flying start yesterday as Dublin-born designer Paul Costelloe kicked off six days of shows with a decadent, couture-inspired collection at the British Fashion Council tent. Having breakfasted on croissants and blueberry muffins - and the odd glass of Champagne - there was time for a little off-schedule action at the Science Museum, where new design duo Poltock & Walsh made their London debut with a gorgeous bird-inspired and feather-adorned collection - "It's been our dream to show in London," Katie Walsh told us backstage before the show - before heading off to Biba in the suitably elegant surround of Claridge's Ballroom, where we were treated to heavily embellished and embroidered tunics in vivid forest shades on structured silhouettes and cute cone-shaped hats. After an afternoon in the West End - where labels Modern(ist) and Osman Yousefzada both held their shows - it was time for the much-anticipated collection from Jaeger London: think python prints, fringing, flairs and skinny trailing scarves. On the fashion pack's agenda today? Sinha-Stanic, PPQ, Louise Goldin, and Paul Smith to name but a few. Happy Fashion Week!
